How To Crush Your Business In The 4th Quarter

Around mid-September of every year, I start feeling restless. Summer is winding down, the leaves start to wither and change is in the air. My social feeds are buzzing with people getting excited for pumpkin spice everything, boots and flannel and while I love all those things, coffees and freshly baked holiday treats I definitely have my eye on a bigger prize….generating business!

This is it, it’s open season and I don’t mean hunting season. While many have decided the rest of the year is a lost cause and have chosen to throw their hands up to hibernate their business for the remainder of the year and start again in January I am choosing to hunt for new leads, prospects, customers and business partners!

I know it’s easy to use the holidays as an excuse to slack but hear me when I tell you that your business can not afford to be put on the back burner. Creating momentum and keeping it is everything for your business. This time of year definitely has it’s share of fun to look forward to but it’s also a time to take advantage of the amazing opportunities to get your business in gear!

Here’s are 4 tips to ensure you are setting yourself up to crush it in the 4th quarter:

Celebrate

I want you to spend a few minutes celebrating what you have accomplished so far this year. Too often as women we are way too hard on ourselves that our wins are overshadowed by thoughts of not doing enough and we should be doing more. So I want you to write down 5 wins you had this year, no matter how small, and acknowledge them. Every win is important. Every. Single. One.

Revisit Your Business Goals

You only have three months left of the year to meet your goals so it’s important to know exactly what those goals are. Now is not the time to focus on everything you haven’t accomplished this year. All that will do is lead you to an emotional dump where too much self hate and stress eating can happen. You can’t change what didn’t get done the first 9 months of this year so give yourself some grace and start from now, from TODAY!

Write down 1 primary goal you can be committed to accomplishing before year end. Maybe it’s create a new opt-in so you can generate new email leads and be ready to kick January off with a bang. Maybe it’s to build your customer base. You don’t need to overwhelm yourself but you do need to create a goal that you can be laser focused on to grow your business these next couple of months.

Create A Daily Action Plan

Goals are worthless without action. Once you have your 1 primary goal set, write down what your daily action plan is to accomplish that goal. Using my examples above, if it’s to create a new freebie that you can use for an opt-in and build your email list you know the first couple of days you need to form an idea for it, create it, get it on your website and then start marketing it over social media. Find creative ways to get the word out about your freebie with graphics, Facebook lives where you give value and then a call to action at the end. Consistency brings results!

If it’s to build your customer base, figure out what that daily action plan looks like. Reaching out to potential prospects to offer a free sample in exchange for a testimonial, reach out to influencers on social media who can share your product in exchange for a shout out about it, share your own personal story of your results via social media, follow up with people you have talked to in the past. Again, consistency is key!

Get Creative

It’s the holidays after all so how can you leverage this time of year to your advantage while others are taking a break from their business? Get creative and think outside the box to get ahead of everyone else waiting on January.

Be Accountable

Share your goals with a friend who gets you, with a mentor, spouse or share your goals in a supportive women’s entrepreneur group. Ask them to help hold you accountable and celebrate your wins with you!

January is coming friend and the results you want to see in the New Year comes from the work you do now, today! Don’t be the one who on January 1st stumbles out of bed with a holiday hangover from hibernating during the 4th quarter. Be the fearless womenpreneur who is hunting for business and setting herself up to kick off a new year with a bang while everyone else is struggling to just get going. You’ve got this!
